June 2026 mobile game rankings: World Cup demand lifted downloads, live ops won revenue
Global Top 10 downloads rose while Top 10 revenue barely moved. Puzzle acquisition, football-season demand, and late-month live ops explain the split, but not every chart change has a clean cause.
The month at a glance
June produced a clean split. The ten most downloaded games added volume, but the ten highest-grossing games finished almost flat. Acquisition expanded faster than player spending.

The global rankings moved in opposite ways
The download chart rewarded scale. The revenue chart rewarded established payment loops. June did not overturn that old divide, but it made the contrast unusually visible.

The World Cup widened the football funnel
FIFA Panini Collection is the clearest event-led entrant in June. FIFA launched the app on May 12 with digital stickers for 528 players across all 48 World Cup teams. The tournament started on June 11. In June, the app reached No. 6 worldwide with an estimated 13.8 million downloads.
The timing closely follows the World Cup calendar. Tournament attention, team searches, and renewed interest in collecting all helped bring the app into the global Top 10. It generated only 559 tracked ad signals during the month, far fewer than the leading puzzle advertisers, so paid acquisition was probably only one part of the growth.
Tournament and product timeline
- 05/12 FIFA launches the digital sticker app
- 06/04 eFootball starts International Cup
- 06/11 World Cup and POTD begin
- 06/24 Free Fire anniversary begins
eFootball moved with the same football calendar. KONAMI started International Cup 2026 on June 4 and began its daily Player of the Day releases on June 11. Downloads then rose sharply in several football-heavy markets:
Japan
Brazil
Indonesia
Türkiye
Free Fire joined the same calendar with Fire Kickoff from June 5 to 23, followed by its ninth-anniversary update on June 24. Football attention reached beyond conventional sports games, although Free Fire's results varied by country.
Puzzle games bought reach, not spending
Arrows - Puzzle Escape grew from 21.8 million to 29.3 million downloads and took the global No. 1 position. Tracked ads increased from 22,859 to 30,954, almost the same rate as downloads. Revenue slipped 3.2%.
Arrows GO! followed a similar pattern. Downloads rose 28.7%, tracked ads moved from zero to 61,417, and revenue was almost unchanged. The App Store history for Arrows - Puzzle Escape lists routine bug fixes in late May rather than a major feature launch. Distribution and user acquisition appear to have done most of the work in June.
Live ops reordered the revenue chart
Honor of Kings gained 12.2% and moved from No. 2 to No. 1. Its S44 season arrived on June 25 with a new character path, battle-pass skins, and additional events. The release may have added momentum at the end of the month, although most of June's revenue had already accumulated before it went live.
Royal Match added 100 levels and launched the Royal Cup in its June 8 and 9 App Store updates. Revenue grew 4.4% and the game climbed to No. 2. Here the content cadence and the football theme both line up with the chart movement.
Kingshot grew 10.6% and reached No. 3. Century Games kept a full June event calendar, while tracked ads rose from 85,420 to 100,829. The month looks more like sustained operating and acquisition pressure than a brief spike tied to one event.
Last War: Survival fell from No. 1 to No. 4 as estimated revenue dropped about 30%. No major official announcement coincided with the decline, making it the largest unresolved movement in June's revenue chart.

Global campaigns did not travel evenly
Free Fire ran its football event and anniversary globally, but the commercial response differed sharply by country.
In Indonesia, the main Free Fire app grew 21.6% in downloads and 61.2% in revenue. In Vietnam, Free Fire MAX grew 20.5% in downloads and 78.9% in revenue.
Brazil moved the other way: downloads fell 1.3% and revenue fell 3.4%. In Mexico, downloads declined 7.9% and revenue declined 6.3%. The same event package met different player bases, product versions, and competitive conditions.

About the data and sources
Rankings combine App Store and Google Play estimates for June 2026. Month-over-month figures compare the same store listings with their May 2026 results. The market totals are sums of Top 10 titles, not estimates for the entire mobile game market.
Free Fire changed its store title during its football and anniversary campaigns, but the underlying app remained the same. These temporary names are combined in the month-over-month results.
