Unfortunately I am very familiar with this event. They had it last year down in the south part of the county off of Peach Creek road. We experienced similar complaints of course. I have met with the Sherriff concerning this event and how we could do a better job of keeping them from disturbing the neighbors, tearing of the ditches, etc.

Last year the Sheriff's department deputies were allowed to work security for this event, on their own time of course, as is policy of the Sheriff. This year they were not allowed to do this as it created a perception that the fox was guarding the hen house. I plan to meet with the Sheriff again after this year's event to get a report on the event. There were several other plans in the works that I would like to find out how things went that I cannot discuss yet, but I will get back with you after meeting with Sheriff Cook.

I have done a lot of research on this group and the things that go on at these events. I can tell you I am NOT a fan at all and I do not believe the Sheriff is either.

I definitely think everyone affected needs to reach out to the Sheriff and let him know the issues. He is really the only one that can affect a change with regard to this matter and even he is very limited with regard to statutory authority; however, what authority he does have needs to be enforced and hearing from those affected is essential.
